However, there are responsibilities you should be aware of when you have a claim or possible claim. Most importantly, please make sure to report all claims or possible claims promptly to avoid unnecessary complications. Please also be aware of the following below items (although all may not apply to your specific claim). Duties in the Event of Loss or Damage Please make sure the following are done upon the discovery of loss or damage, or a situation that may lead to loss or damage, to Covered Property: 1. Notify the police if a law may have been broken. (In Nevada, if damages are above $1,000, have bodily injury, theft, vandalism, or malicious mischief) 2. Give us prompt notice of the loss or damage. Include a description of the property involved. 3. As soon as possible, give us a description of how, when and where the loss or damage occurred. 4. Take all reasonable steps to protect the covered Property from further damage. If needed, give us compete inventories of the damaged and undamaged property. 5. As often as necessary, have us inspect the property proving the loss or damage and examine your books and records. 6. For loss or damage other than “Employee Dishonesty” send us a signed, sworn proof of loss containing the information we request to investigate the claim. This needs to be completed within 60 days after our request. We will supply you with the necessary form. 7. For loss or damage resulting from “Employee Dishonesty” give us a detailed, sworn proof of loss within 120 days of the date of discovery. 8. Work together with us in the investigation and settlement of the claim. 9. If you intend to continue your business, you must resume all or part of your “operations” as quickly as possible. |
