Rod has served The Leavitt Group in many capacities since 1977. In his current positions, Rod is responsible for the growth and success of Leavitt Insurance Agency specifically and The Leavitt Group as a whole. Under his leadership, Leavitt Insurance Agency has become one of the largest insurance brokers in Nevada and The Leavitt Group has become the third largest privately-held insurance broker in the nation.

Rod strives to stay active in the insurance industry and community through his memberships in various organizations. He is the former Chairman and Board Member of The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, current Board Member of the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives, and is a former Director of the National Association Professional Insurance Agents. He is also the District Program Chairman of the Las Vegas Area Boy Scouts of America and the former President and founding member of the UNLV Running Rebel Basketball Club.

Rod has earned the professional designations of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Certified Insurance Counselor, Associate in Risk Management and Certified Insurance Service Representative. He also graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a Finance Major with an Insurance Concentration.
